we have a policy where if you own up it doesnt matter what you do (within reason ) but if you try and hide it your'e f**ked

Defo the way it should be, nothing more annoying than people trying cover up f**k up's. The sooner it is apprent what has happened the sooner it can be fixed and procedures put in place to hopefully stop it happening again.

well been in this morning and ive been dismissed

the fact he found a printer asleep at the machine is ok apparently as he (managing directer) has fallen asleep before whilst driving  :undecided:

he said iam a good lad, have had good attendence and iam welcome to apply for a job there if anything comes up  but he cant let the fact that ive f**ked up 10k job he even said i did the right thing in admitting it rather than bullsh!t him  :undecided:

after i was suspended last week i was signed off by the docter with anxiety depression for 2weeks (more if needed) is it possible to be sacked whilst on the sick, i know i was on suspension but only whilst they looked into further  :undecided:

They will need to do an investigation, however it isnt a court room, they only need to be staisfied it was you to dismiss you.

i'd also find out bout the treatment pens as there an important part of the job and if they havent supplied them and you've been asking for them then surely there to blame also

Can you prove you asked for them? Can they prove you were the cause (cctv, someone saw you etc)

It doesnt look good imo

I would go & see CAB as you may have a case for unfair dismissal, take your contract if you have one. It seems very harsh to sack you for one mistake and especially as it was only 10k !

You can fight it, but you wont get your job back!
Sounds to me they are also using it as an excuse to cut costs and save paying you redundancy.
