Of course people make mistakes. Just pointing out that if it is a big enough mistake then a company can remove you for gross misconduct totally legally.
Usually it will depend on your past record, if you are hard working loyal employee then you can get away with murder

just wondered if any1 had any info on this ive just been in a meeting at work after i f**ked a job up basically what i do is laminate 2 food packages together 1 of the films is treated 1 side to help the glue stick i put the film the wrong way and it didnt stick

Surely the company has QA implemented to notice the error before rolling out 10k worth of material.  If not then it's not your fault the error happened to such an extent.  Problem is once things start going down this route it creates animosity and you end up hating working there and the employer looks for any chance to dismiss you.

10k is nothing,  and if 1 order is worth 10k then I imagine they can afford it rather than the hassle of sacking someone, advertising for a new position, interview process, training the new employee, and having to cover them with overtime or whatever while they are being trained, etc

I did 40k damage in my first week of working for my company, pushed a bit of freight through one of the big metal door shutters. I had to buy my lead his breakfast

I cost Vestas £40k one night, all from forgetting to shut one of the resin ports on the infusion.  :embarassed:

If you're lucky the feed resin will cure before it runs out and air is drawn in. I wasn't lucky.

Had an interview, measures were put in place to prevent it happening again (it did lol) and that was it. I was watched like a hawk for a few months after that though
