looking to tune to 295 bhp

Well Wayne is a joke as usual!

2.1 is not the limit! 2.3 is possible! But would be very unreliable and need a rebuild virtually after every race! Also a 2.3 will rev to at least 8500.

Len missing the point again  I have driven a 2.1 and yes it will rev but did not feel like it was happy to, yes you can go to 2.3 with a mega bucks stroker crank.

I doubt it is worth spending £3K to say £5k on a 8v when a 1.8t remapped and a few mods will give you 250bhp and good torque.

As for getting 295bhp forget it plus you don't need that much power for a track day.

the guys in america run more than this but I believe the engines are quite different to euro one's?

American engines are cross-flow rather than counter-flow apparently, and all the kits are designed around the amercian engines
