Advice on undo-ing top mount front suspension please

I Had the deep ring spanner on it and the the allen key but i just couldn't loosen the bastard; the allen key just wanted to mashup the the bolt. Any ideas on how i can do this? sorry for my ignorance

i take it your doing this on your drive etc lol what you need is a good quality allen key i.e snap on which dosn't twist,snap or round  but also a good 6 sided swan kneck spanner either that or a air powered tool if that fails you need to call superman

Pop to your local garage and get them to crack them off with an air gun.

This or force an oil filter chain wrench under the top cup.

thanks guys, i think i'm gonna bow out gracefully and go to a garage on this one

Give one of them a fiver and they'll air gun them off, take the top plates off, air gun the nuts underneath that then just put it back with a ratchet and take a slow drive home and undo.

I took mine to a local garage, took 5 mins and cost tenner. Its the best way!

If i remember right, a spark plug socket works at a treat on this, one with flats for a spanner to engage.
Then use an allen key through the middle, you can get the laser tool with a big handle.
I wouldn't recommend using air tools on shock absorbers, you can damage the seals.
Battery powered wrench would be fine.

+1 or soak them in wd40/dd, fill till its full to the top and leave till next day, thats what i did and it worked.
