Jim,
Your car is a relatively old girl, so why don't you just opt for Bluefin as the old girl does not require open heart surgery?
You know it makes common sense as you can de-map and re-map her (assuming the car is female) at will and it's relatively cheap at £450.

Yeah, my initial thoughts before buying the car was that I'd go down the Bluefin route, I still havent ruled it out.  I like the idea of the original map being stored and the ease of removing etc, however REVO now offer this type of thing with some added extras.

Most decent tuners can give you a hand held unit to put the car back to standard and also give you the option of two selectable maps

Where are you located Jim?

BTW I'm allowed to talk shop (a little) now as we're now forum sponsors - new section to follow under remapping, I'm sure Nick (Carbon's VAG GURU) will be along soon to discuss the finer points of what you'd like to from your tuning.

I was being good as a moderator - not a forum sponsor but now that my company is a forum sponsor.....

We sell a very reliable product that we buy in that can hold your stock map and two modded maps - you could have say a a day to day power map and a high RON map for example.

I'm a little up the wall at the mo but I'll take a photo of one later and pop it up

Well colour me interested !
Is this dependant on the old ECU scrambling issue though, or do you pull the ECU and replace the chip?
