Thanks - will have a look in a sec.
Latest news, coils replaced which were apparently faulty, injector(s) replaced which also apparently were faulty, now catalytic converter on order........
Just tell them to stop pi*ssing about and put a new engine in there , useless tosser's

As they say in my countreee, 'Slowly, slowly, catch the monkey'.

It's actually 'Slowly, slowly catchee monkey.' It comes from the days of British colonialism when many far eastern countries were under British rule. Soldiers posted there used to try to catch monkeys to keep as pets and despite all their efforts were not very successful. Many natives spoke 'Pidgin English' which was a simplified form of English. They showed the soldiers how to do it by demonstrating a simple but effective method. This was to place a basket containing fruit in a clearing in the jungle where the monkeys lived. The basket would have a narrow opening and be tied to the ground. Monkeys would come along and stick their arms inside the basket to get at the fruit. The opening was just wide enough to allow for this but as the fruit was grasped the fist was too big to get out of the basket. The monkeys were so greedy that even when soldiers approached they would not release the fruit and thus be easily caught. Naturally this took patience on the part of the captor who would have to wait quietly until the monkey was snared. Thus the slow approach proved to be more effective hence the phrase.

Greedy monkeys with fat fruit, sounds like my son tbh

 Driven for only the 3rd time today since repair, only doing 30, Emissions light started flashing, black smoke, misfire and limp mode.....
Service department closed until Monday - cant believe it.....

Already been in the shop for 6 days and had replaced 1 set of coils, 1 injector, all injector seals, catalytic converter and front probe.
My other worry is that misfires damage the cat - what if it's partly damaged now but not dead enough to warrant replacement?
I dont want to have one that's goin to die the day after warranty expires.

Re. VW Assistance (RAC), they normally contact you 6 weeks before it runs out. I've just renewed mine for 2 years for £145 (£77.50 per annum). It includes European Cover. Pretty good value IMO.

Sorry about your continuous mishap. Hope your love life is not too badly affected by the inoperative 'Pussy Magnet'.

Not good to hear that :(

Once it's in the garage I'd push for a full diagnosis of the carxascother parts Inc the catalytic converter may be damaged as you say.

Get them to put you in a decent/equivalent loan car and spend some time looking at yours and fully sorting.

As a gesture of goodwill see if they'll give you 12 months RAC cover.
Good luck

I had to chase them to renew as well. Worth it though - excellent value.

I think I'm going to need crisis counselling....

So far had replaced 1 set of coils, 1 injector, all injector seals, catalytic converter and front probe.
3 days later high pressure fuel pump failed.
Apparently this has dumped bits of metal in the fuel tank which cant be flushed/cleaned (don't know why) so complete new fuel tank now on order.
