Masher: Was wondering how your car was running? Give it a good thrashing to see if the repairs hold. I hope you have no further problems.

am1w: I've been away all week so haven't had much "track time" yet. Had one return 100 mile return trip and to be honest I was a bit worried to give it too much stick - shouldnt be the case I know but just had visions of sitting on the hard shoulder of the M1 miles from home waiting for the RAC......
Day off today so will give it some beans closer to home and see what happens. I have noticed a small blip on tickover, only about once every 45 seconds, like a really minor misfire but can live with that.
Will report back later.
PS - do you normally get full written report on repairs? I only ever get an invoice and the service clerk reading notes back.

funny you should say that masher... mine seems to do the same. a little splutter whilst standing still... if you sit still you can feel the car shudder a little, almost as if its trying to clear its throat.

Sound similar??

  Pleased to report all now ok - small blip exactly as R32UK described but can't be arsed to take it back for that.
Gave it a good dose of pedal action this week and it's held out fine.
