Miss my 16v so much but i like 8v aswell, would just be nice if i owned a co meter and a timing light to set the damn thing up properly. Cant bring myself to take it to a garage and say "can you set it up as it says in the haynes manual/rubjonnys guide please"

Ask Mr Hell for some assistance, he'll give you some abuse for not slinging an ABF in it, but if you can work around the abuse I'm sure he'll be of some use

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

98bhp?? Is that all? Quite a bit lower than I would have expected... Had a look for my rolling road print out but can't find it... Think I may have the torque wrong but bhp is definately right... Am I right in saying digifant is electronic ignition and injection whereas k-jet is mechanical?

Anyone know any cheap and easy ways to improve an 8v digis performance? Ie make it faster?

No, 93.6

That was at the wheels, well hubs to be precise, not at the fly. It was done on this:

Oh, even if it was a little low on power it still resulted in this quote:

I was taken out in a really early A or B reg 8v after I tuned it, and it felt quicker than my 1990 2.0 8v GTI!

And there's someone on here that will verify it's quicker than a 1.8t mk4, even when 2-up :lipsrsealed:

Mine was on a traditional rolling road. Wouldn't have thought there was just over 20bhp between kjet and digi...

I'm assuming the 115bhp from yours is at the flywheel though, NOT the wheels?

0% transmission losses FTW.

K-jet's all about throttle response.  That's why it feels quicker than the Digifant, which needs to process the incoming data before it acts on it.

Go to later injection systems that can process inputs faster and that 'advantage' goes away.

Early cars feel fast due to less sound proofing and tat attached to them.  Weight loss in a car is the easiest way of improving performance: FACT.

Against the K-jet is a lack of closed feedback loops and protection, such as electronic rev limiters, knock control etc.  Both motors have stupid flappy airflow meters.  The K-jet one is just bigger and dumber.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
