Have a skim through this if your bored? :P http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=102197.0

66 pages, mostly of crap!

Also had a mk2 (sh!t though :embarassed:) http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=69408.0

I regret selling both, mostly the mk2 as I could have dropped a GTI lump in there, brought coilovers, rims, respray etc.. for less than I got the mk3 for  And then be rocking a brand spankers A3 and a mk2 for work

Live and learn eh?

I do like this look and it does make the mk3 smoother round the edges.I just think its getting really common and making alot of cars really simlar.I know you can only leave them on or take em off but just seems everyones ripping them off which for me kinda takes abit of the mk3s character away from it.It seems now its more cool to have a Gti that looks like a CL with stance than a actual Gti.Ive seen some people are now removing there colour coded bumpers and replacing them with cl textered bumpers and to be honest just isnt my cup of tea,but no doubt we will all be doing this to our Gti,VRs and 16v and saying how cool it looks  Just for me the Gti is looking more like a 1.4 cl with a pimp set of wheels but everyone is different

Hi Dom
Thanks for the vote on the looks

I'll be sure to post up some pics...  Kinda missing the arches TBH.  Rear stub axles are spaced out 10mm per side with machined stub axles and the fronts are +10mm per side with hubcentric spacers.

I know what you mean and I agree, I like my arches and will prob end up keeping them

Also I despise cl spec bumpers, they're such a nightmare to keep black

No probs it's a nice looking car, a little tidier than then I last saw it

It's a shame you've moved so much further north otherwise i'd make a trip upto yours and borrow your expertise every now and again

I definately need spacers on mine, the wheels look lost in the arches. I was thinking 15mm hubcentric spacers on the rear each side and 10mm hubcentrics on the front each side.

I had a look at removing my spoiler earlier but i'm missing one of the little black nut/bolt covers which I guess i'm going to need to plug the hole. So until I can get my hands on one of them it'll hace to stay on.

Also wired up a toggle switch for the amp/sub into one of the blanks near the heater controls (at my g/f's request because it's 'too loud' otherwise ) So i'll get some pics of that up tomorrow, i'm too tired now so i'm off to bed!

Cheers Wayne, I was going to get a pack for the rear wiper anyway so that's handy :afro:

Thanks for the pictures as well, it's helpful to have a better idea of what it will look like before I start ripping things off

Also maybe a stupid question, but once the wiper is removed what do you do with the pipe for the washer?

All I did was put a screw in the pipe inside the tailgate plus pull it off the washer bottle under the bonnet.

Also here is a couple of pics of the switch for the amp/sub;

Switch off:

Switch on:

The only problem is that when the switch is on the LED is so bright that it lights up my rear window in the dark so I need to try and put a filter over it to dull the light output

Ha ha cool....... I've made that mistake before with a switch.. Have you switch the sub because you couldn't be bothered to wire up the remote wire?
