That looks nice kirk I do like the look without arches but just think its to common now same with the wiper and spoiler mod does look nice but its done to death still everyone has there own views with mods spose thats what makes us all very different  nice looking car though

Dom. i may have missed something, are you thinking about keeping the trim off, or just taking it off to see if there's anything hiding beind it?

Well I guess the plan is to remove the trim, see if there is anything lurking beneath and treat anything accordingly. If/when all is ok underneath them, then I'll remove the spoiler/rear wiper to see what it looks like, and if it looks ok then I might run it like that for a while. If it looks crap then i'll refit all trim with the peace of mind that all is ok underneath it

I see what you mean, i took it all of for a respray and just cant bring myself to put it back on.

May put the spoiler back but really just cant decide

More than CL bumpers, it also had mirrors and the boot handle.

I know people say the arches and sills make it a GTI but I think they look much cleaner and smoother without them.

If it's rusty under the arches then forget waxoil... it's simply pants...  use Bilt Hamber stuff like Deox Gel and then Electrolox primer.

With regard to the tailgate and arches:
(Im currently in the process of touching the arches up in order to refit the arch kit and I'm also picking up a standard tailgate in a week or so)

As Wayne said above it looks so much cleaner without all the plastics, be sure to put up some more pics when your wheel arches are refitted. I'm intrigued to see what it looks like with arches on and spoiler off

I like the look with all the arches off, had mine colour coded and the bumpers smoothed on mine (along with the badge and wiper welded over)

Looks much cleaner than standard IMO.

Don't remember ever seeing your MK3... looks very nice!
