I'd advise you not to get a map to keep up with your mate. It's not a game of who can outdo the other. He has 4wd so will always jump you off the line. If you are getting a map then get it because it will enhance the enjoyment of your car. Otherwise, youll feel a bit silly if you get a map and then find your mate has got a map aswell and can still beat you (or has bought a faster car)

Just about every company AMD, Superchips, MTM, Revo etc offer a map that takes the mk 6 to around 255-265 bhp. There are other posts on this forum about the pros and cons of each firm. It's really personal choice.

I know its tempting to want more power when in a rivalry (especially between friends) but be careful you don't ruin the handling and balance of your car.

I had been leaning towards Blufin, too, until someone on here pointed out that Superchips are 'specialised' in every engine under the sun. Revo only do VAG. I went with them in September and have been delighted ever since. It gives the GTI the sort of acceleration it should have been given in the first place.

Bluefin vote for me. Aftersales service has been superb and would reccommend them to anyone.

A stage 1 Bluefin Ed30 would out excellerate an S3, due to the s3 suffering with more of its transmission losses.Round tight bends in the wet, then just forget and concede

Why?
Because he prefers the look of the GTI?

So do I...I wouldn't have a current S3 parked on my driveway...the car is bland/boring and I much prefer the look of the Golf (I don't like the image of the Audi owners much either).

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.
