Why the thought police have a go at people for this I don't understand.  whine whine whine.
If you drive without pissing people off, and don't mind paying for higher fuel costs etc so what if you have a 4x4x for the school run and you have just the one child. If I want something thats big and safe so what!  Also bollocks to enviro aurguments as some 4x4's are no more enviro unfriendly than a golf GTI (thinking Q5 2.0T here that has the same engine as the GTI). Why don't people get upset tossers who steal your car or drive on drugs or with no insurance for the 43nd time and get let off again. Or what about the tossers who drive at 50mph in a 30 residental area. It's not the car, it's the people who drive them.

In a similar vein, lorries that try to overtake each other.... just cos they're going 0.1 mph faster than the lorry in front they attempt to overtake and then block 2/3rds of the motorway for the next 10 miles.

Grrrrrr....

Good point,i followed some t it in a lorry it took him at least 5 miles to over take another lorry and what did he do as soon as he had over took ?,pulled off the motorway.

:afro: Don't give in to the State (or the eco-mentalists) - drive the car you want to drive.

Not quite - the Q5 is much heavier than the GTI so will use more fuel. Although of course I'm all for that, so load it up and floor the throttle!

Cars with their lights on all the time.

I drive with my lights on all the time - helps all the apparently blind other road users notice I'm there.

Better get used to it, pal... All cars legally will ned to have DRL's soon.

Some Euro countries you are obliged to have your lights on all the time, irrelevant of light, weather, etc.. Pretty sure Belguim is one.
MKV GTI | Reflex Silver | 5-dr | Anthracite 17" | Manual | Highline MFD | Cruise | Revision 'D' DV | Dirty Pipes |

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

I'm all for it.  If it helps to prevent accidents why wouldn't you want them?
