Bluefin update
« on: 26 November 2009, 09:19 »
A blow by blow install.
1 Unpacked and installed the software.
2. Went down to the car put it in (oooh er). A couple of switch on/off data loaded.
3. Back to the pc uploaded the file to super chips
4.Got an email back within 40 mins asking for more data as I have the 2010 vw calibration. Waiting
5.Called tech support and they advised still looking at it they still don't know (fitted mud guards whilst waiting)
6. Got a text at 1350 and email saying its ready...
7. Had a bite to eat and D/L the Map 1453 ready to apply the map... wish me luck.
8. Applied the map approx 6 mins to load into the car, set off engine management light oh sh*te called the boffins. Was asked to remove decided to restart the motor engine light gone called the boffin who apologized DOH! should have done this helps clear the ECU. All ok

So the worst was waiting for super chips to give me the map. The install really took 40 mins with loads of coffee.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

Whats the Bluefin warranty like compared to VW ?

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

Been out with a mate for a quick run, you can notice the difference in 2,3,4,5 easier for him to say as he gets pushed back in the seat.
Did 2 0-60 runs first
1 8.5 seconds
2 7.7 seconds
It felt quick and smooth. Will test out the MPG and the overtaking which is what I want it for over the next week.
Niggles though did I do the right thing ? 7 days to test it out.

Any Questions ?

Standard 140 is just over 9 seconds, I'm not a 0-60 man so my gear changes are slow the timer thinks I could drop another .5 with a better gear change, was thinking of getting the felt foot and arm upgraded  so I would be like Steve Austin

I'll post more after a motorway run
