Is there are limit to the amount of times you can put the map on/off?

Also forgot to ask, isit likley to effect your VW warranty? Is it detectable by VW or is it simply a case of take the map off if the car needs to go to the stealers?

My understanding is that you can take it off , but it show's up on the VAGcom that its had a remap at some point?? I stand to be corrected on this? I would not re-map my car until the warrenty finishes but thats just me. I'm not willing to take the risk , in any case its fast enough 230 bhp good for doing most cars on the road at overtaking!!! ^^as many times as you like, and it DOESNT  show on the flash counter.

If Vw wanted to look more closely at the ECU then they could tell but its not abvious.

This my point really , if VW suspect there is an underlying issue going with the car belive me they will find it?? These guys are not stupid when dealing with warrentys?? Or are they? Steve30

230bhp certainly is enough, sadly the regular GTI only has 210bhp!

With no other mods or changes and being 47 not many people would think i would have done anything, I would have had it done by some one the dealer recommended but he went off sick and has not returned. I'm told that the stealer's don't have the equipment or training and would need to get an expert in to check where the details are of the part remap. ?

Not naive  just enjoying the extra power when needed...

Here is a little update...

Its now 4 months of running blufin

After 3 months I called them to advise that the fuel consumption was getting worse and not better, at the start I knew this would reduce due to the extra power and and my right foot wanting to use it all the time .
So they sent me a new map(same day i enquired), waited a couple of days after installing booted the arS* out of her felt just as quick, so settled down to normal driving again with the odd rash moment and hy what a difference, I know its the oil burner, now on a daily average I'm over 50 mpg on the same run where I was getting about 45 mpg. Don't know what they did but it has sure made a difference.

Sorry still no rolling road all my spare cash is tied up in this years holidays at the moment...

PS no issues with the car at all with this installed..

£400 well spent? don't know if I would do it again, would probably get the better BHP engine to start with
