4) crappy weather
5) heavy right foot

You have to feed the power in, whether it be dsg or manual.. the spooling characteristics of the tiny k03 turbo gives you peak torque very early on.

if you guys are only seeing improvements in higher gears, try turning your traction control off.. it will be sucking the power from 1st/2nd as it thinks you're about to wheelspin.. but you have more mechanical grip there than the abs computer knows!

i'm running a std car, but i seem to be getting wheelspin reasonably often in 1st/2nd gear.

i'm thinking this is down to a few factors:

1, i have the much maligned dunlops
2, i have DSG and i wonder if the rapid changes equate to "dumping" the clutch more aggressively than if i had a manual
3, road surface quality
I woudld say its the dunlops thats causing the wheel spin?? Steve30

Tiguan quicker than the Golf

I get a bit of wheelspin in 1st and 2nd too, and I don't have Dunlops (Bridgestones).  Might be too much right foot with the DSG.

even though the golf is primarily designed for fetching the weekly shop,  it is a performance car and as such you just have to 'feel' where you are at with the power delivery. Too much throttle at too low revs will give spin so just feed the power through and give more gas as you get higher up the rev range and then you shouldn't spin.

driving around last night, the torrential rain has led to some pretty big/ deep puddles on the roads.  happy to report however that the golf was very stable, even on the dunlops, and not a trace of aqua-planing

(or is the helm so isolated now in terms of feel that i didn't notice?! )
Mk6 Golf GTI 5dr, DBP, Monza Shadow, Xenons, ACC, RCD510, Park Assist, Camera, Lux pack.... and now bluetooth.... and now DSG!

Agreed. It's been a month or so since I first drove in heavy rain and it was a pleasant surprise not to slide at all. I have Bridgstones but I think it's the whole car that's great not just tyres.

Golf GTI VI DSG - died on the road, resurrected, came back as zombi, sold
R - rising blue, 5-door, DSG, ACC, something something...

Suprisingly enough the dunlops do generally perform quite well in testing in the wet...  :nerd:

I rang super chips today and asked them about the flash count, They advised that this feature was added due to other companies offering this a couple of years back.

Still trying to find somewhere to get the rolling road and a day to do it before Christmas to give you the results.

I'm going to have to wait till after Christmas for the RR due to every second either painting/getting pi**ed or shopping .

Its really great for 2ed-4th gear overtaking and pulling away. 5-6 on the M way great as well, for me looks like the right choice.

Happy Bunny just need those graphs to show the power and torque
