spray some WD (Not bucket loads) on belts while running if the noise goes then its just belt squeel, if it dont you need to have a look. :smiley:

As said before, it sound like another belt squeaking or a pulley, possibly from the water pump, alternator or powered steering pump.

I wouldn't. I think its been said before that any oil based stuff eats rubber.

I wouldn't. I think its been said before that any oil based stuff eats rubber.

Tiny mist to stop the belts squeeling while you listen for rumbly bearings and shagged pump aint gonna hurt, trust me :smiley:

noise is definately coming from the pas pump area, how hard a job is it to replace the pump as my steering is very heavy..

an aa man did this to a pajero i was in when it broke down+ he said it was fine, does it all the time

Yes, plus you may / will need to bleed the sytem when it is all back together.

whats there left to bleed if i have drained it before removing the old pump??
