The cold winter weeks got in the way, plus I was a bit lazy but the new man shed has helped me prep in the evenings and today has allowed me to paint... I am tired of how long this is taking me now and it's obvious I need a full professional respray when funds permit.. As a result my attention to detail has slipped some what, so now this is all about getting the old girl back together in an OK looking state.
Front Valance
Not easy to see in the pictures but there were lots of small damaged areas

Side Skirts
As you may remember the skirts had extra holes drilled, the extra screws that were used were rotten and fooked and needed to be ground out. This damaged the skirts and I had to repair the damage I casued.

Most of the kit is fitted now, Didn't take any pictures as it was pitch black, here's a little teaser though
All the kit has been fitted with new zinc plated screws and brass dome washers, really stands out in places...

My Favourite Audi of all time, the Group B Quattro
Always wanted one but i'll have to stick to the golf.
However i've always fancied the bonnet for a MK1 if the rest of the car would suit it. I think the way i'm heading with mine it will. I've waited all my dub life for this at the right price and then I found one by chance!... Travelled to the other side of the earth to get it!
It's been in a barn for a very long time, once part of an early MK1 VR6........ Now it's mine.... Long story short, I was very very lucky to get this as it was already sold but then the buyer couldn't be ars*d to go the distance to fetch it. It needs a lot of work!... its made from Aluminium and Glass Fibre.
It's got more of a pronounced bulge than the original but I like it.
Vents are functional, I don't like the silver mesh, the other vents mesh is damaged. The bonnet catch was ripped off so that area is damaged, so are the points to bolt the hinges. The mounting nuts for all of them are rattling inside. It's scratched to fook and is rough around the edges so I will have my work cut out when the time comes.

Some rather sh*t shots of some of the kit fitted (2 pieces left to fit). I took these in a rush on my way to work so a couple are blurry.

The rest of the Bodykit is fitted, also trial fitted Quattro Bonnet, ignore shut lines, bonnet is just plonked on...... Also imagine it in Satin, not scratched to feck gloss and without the silver grille mesh.... rest of the car needs painting which I will do after MOT... will not be MOTing with this bonnet. Front will look better with the Lower fogs fitted too, again after MOT.

If i'm honest i'm not to sure about the bonnet
At certain angles I think it looks great but others not so. Standing tall against the car looking down at it I don't like it, but then head on lower down I do, the gloss and mesh ruin it so we'll have to see... I'm still going to make it mint and sort the mesh out and with this and the rest of the car painted it might blend in much better..... I wish I had the lower fogs sorted as I think this might help with the busy upper front end.
I like it here

Soooooooo, I've done some MOT stuff today (in between rain showers!), fitted new camber bolts up front, wheels sit well now and steering is straight for the first time since crash (needs pro alignment though obviously).
Fitted thoroughly cleaned washer bottle, red silicone hose and MK2 Jets. Didn't take pics... I will. Also fitted new Aero Wipers a little while back. All working well. Removed rear bottle as I de-wipered it some time ago.
Fitted little red bullet tyre valve caps for the sake of it.
Oh and here's some pics for all you Quattro Bonnet haters:
