My polished rocker cover FINALLY arrived about a month after I paid for it. It's not as good as I was expecting. Could do with a going over with 2000 grit paper, but can't complain really. It was cheap enough at £50. So I wipped the top off the engine to swap them over. All the mounting points, etc are in the same place, but because it came off a BAM engine the coilpack holes are different so I couldn't fit it

topless:

Washed it ready for the cruise tonight. Also did a bit more polishing in the inlet manifold. it's getting there slowly, but the task of polishing it gets very bored very quickly. I think I'll just strip all the bits I want polished and send them up the road to the polishers. Going to replace the biggest water hose with 2 samco bends and a polished pipe soon.

you can see in the pic the manifold is getting there. need to do the vertical bit facing you now. :)

Kerbed my n/s rear wheel last night. mad a massive bang when doing it. didn't damage the wheel too much, but my amps now aren't working. they fired up this morning, but I suspect a dodgey remote wire somewhere off my hideaway unit which is also in the boot. grrr. It only just came back from repair!

Finished applying the whole door with Dynamat Extreme! See pic!. The door feels like it weighs a ton now! completely solid! Hopefully the road noise will be reduced and my stereo will sound better aswell. I've decided I'm making my golf a comfortable car to drive. if I wanted a quick (and noisey) stripped out racer I would, but it'd drive me mad!

If anyone is interested in buying Dynamat here's a great site and if you want to buy a few peices they'll do you a deal. everything is FREE P&P www.dynamat.uk.com

ARGH! She decided to dump the contents of the PAS all over our workshop floor at work! FFS! I had to rebuild the pump about 9 months ago because of that. I'm sure they used the wrong 90 bend when they did the conversion. So again I took it apart. cleaned it all back up and rebuilt it. Refilled with PAS fluid and it seems to be holding it in for now! Time will tell!

Also temporary fitted 2x 15" MTX subs and a 1501D amp for tomorrow's show.

Good weekend apart from the weather. Our marque was nice and warm though with all the engines running to keep the tunes pumping out loud as f**k! We had a live DJ with a FM modulator and all the cars in the tent tuned their radios to recieve the broadcast so we all played the same music. My twin 15" subs stole the show though. So many people amazed by the size :D We only threw them in there the day before! The amp to run those mummas costs £750 though so I won't be keeping them too long. Back to the single 10"!

here's a piccy!

If anyone was wondering how loud. the roof was flexing and all the water on top was moving. the sunglasses on my rear view were jumping up and down about an inch and you couldn't hear the person next to you even if you shout very loud! excellent :D I managed to cook one of my Alpine TypeR's also. I guess they didnt' like running flat out all day opps.

ARGH! I was racing a jap thing on the dual carriageway tonight and managed whilst smashing though the gears to snap one of the cables that my gearbox operates with :( Needless to say I then didn't have any gears now! I manged to pop it into 3rd with the help of my mate holding the clutch in and then still holding the clutch in get back into the drivers seat and drive home with only 3rd. Even did a hill start lol. The Clutch now hates me!

I wanted to change the cables anyway to try and sort out my annoying problem where I can't get it into gear sometimes. Just never knew what cables DD had used. Will call them tomorrow and see if they want to tell me or not.
