TJG has replaced his thermostat himself, might worth asking him? If its all booked in though then I wouldnt bother and just let the garage sort it out.

yep thing is i have no vag com.. so gonna get that done tomoz at garage too.. but all three garages told me most likely there will be no warning codes as im just have symtoms yet nothing has actually fully gone yet! :cry:

I would get the waterpump and cambelt done now then mate for peace of mind and they reccomed doing them at 60k so yours is long overdue.
Golf SOLD. Replaced with a Yamaha Raptor 660 quad and loving it. This will be replaced in August with a Raptor 700. Sold the quad now got a Vectra GSI 2.5 V6 and its the nuts.

mine was already done at 60 k mate from VW by the previous owner .. had that clarified too so thats why i dont want to change the belt  :smiley:
plus i can't afford it right now.. so ill change the thermostat see if that sorts it if not then ill have to go down that route

could be the temperature sender, this tells the ECU how much choke to put on via water temp

yep the fault is thermostat.. just took the car leicster and back to gave me no probs...

im happy aint the water pump  :smiley:

sorry correction was the temp sender  :laugh:... all fixed now  :smiley:

temp is slap bang middle (90)and stays there now  :smiley:
