Oh dear I'm spending more money again!

First off I've ordered some harnesses and bonnet pins which should arrive this week.

Next I'm ordering up a new CV joint for one that's developed a little click and some new dash bulbs so I can see the speedo and rev counter in the dark without resorting to my head torch.

Also I'm bitting the bullet and ordering a pair of R888's for an eye watering £180 delivered. Wish I'd bought them before christmas when they were still £65 each!!!

Lastly I need to pick up the 1/4 light and passanger drivers polycarb windows from Jon as I'm in the process of ordering the rear windows and a drivers window with a slider to complete the set. Boot glass is staying as I like having a rear heated window for when it's wet and the windows steam up.

Oh and due the sad departure of grandmother Horne a few weeks back I'm getting £4.5K in inheretence. £3K is arriving shorlty which is already earmarked for a new kitchen for the flat. the final £1.5K will ariive in the autumn time when the car will be booked in at Carvells for a fully welded in cage.

Just need to find a job for July onwards so I can actually use the thing for trackdays

You should speak to user Pinnochio_Golf on Northloop about harnesses - does v. good discounts and his stuff is pukka.

I wouldn't fit bonnet pins - big no no if you go to the 'ring.  Aero-catches are OK though (and look much better IMO)
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

Already ordered and paid for both so a bit late now.

Why are bonnet pins a no no on the ring?

I don't think bikers want to get caught up on them in the event of contact.

Zese are ze rules.  Obey by zem and you may come and play.  Don't obey zem and please go home.

This also applies to rollcages, so be VERY VERY careful about what you get fitted by who, if you plan to go out there.

Well if I ever go I can ship the pins off before hitting the ferry.

As for the cage I assume (probably shouldn't!) that if it's Ok for competition in this country it would be OK out there on the ring.

Fitting a kitchen in your car is not going to make it faster and will be dangerous if you have stuff on the stove whilst cornering.

FAIL

It's a public road.

An MSA log-booked cage is likely to fail.  Needs to be German-approved for road-use ideally.

Or TUV approved....

Big crackdown happening due to the number of UK idiots going there, killing themselves and others in sheds.

I was thinking of a system of straps and pullies to hold the kettle down while cornering and yet still be able to pour a cuppa midway through bobbies. I'll be the envy of the paddock!

Interesting stuff, you got a link to what TUV wants from a cage? At a guess this has to do with the way it's mounted in the car welding and platform wise rather than the actual layout of the cage?
