hi spencer 30 that sounds exactly the same as mine mate only ticky when warmed up and sounds worse inside the car right from the dash/bulkhead area, ive taken mine to vw twice and both times they have said there is nothing wrong with it and nothing to worry about, even let me hear another one running on the forecourt and sounded the same tbh
....Hasn't this unexpected noise got something to do with the injectors?Do other VAG platforms using the 2.0T FSI engine such as Skoda/Seat/Audi, also have this noise?
....@ ukdub:I notice your sig says : - "BSH speedshop PCV stage 2 fix but with Forge catch can" - I don't want to hijack this thread so do you have a link to another thread on the subject please?

Seems as though I'm getting a similar sounding issue when ever the car is in neutral and idling, once pressed it fads away until its engaged again in neutral.LukeMine is a dsg so no clutch. Oddly the engine doesn't tick when its cold, only when its warm. Its only when stationary that i can hear it and inside the car more than outside. The car is 100% perfect other than this noise, i hope it is normal for the engine.
