What cam shaft to fit mk2 gti 8v

I bought the cam off Ebay a few years ago after first getting the Golf.

jusr rember selling my old kent gs2h to someone on there a few years ago and iirc  it ended up in a car that looks very simalar to yours

Ive got a Newman Shrik cam on my MK1 8v, I think its 276/268 deg with light wait followers. it idles great not loumpy at all...
you really notice a difference around 5000rpm it picks up loads.

The only thing ive noticed is the oil runs a little warmer around 110c, if im really pushing it upto 116deg.
but the water stays cool....  any thoughts on that dubs

The oil temp will always be far higher than water, by about 30 degs or so. I wouldn't give it any grave concern.

As long as you stay under 130 you'll be fine

i have gone 4 the newman 268 it will b here monday i have also ordered a red powdercoated rocker cover/crome oil cap/cambelt/rocker cover gasket/ cant wait to fit it all didnt bother with follower will wait till there nackerd will post pics next weekend when i fit it

110-120 is fine for oil temp a lot of tweeked motors ive had have liked to run at those temps

phill walker seems an honest chap. the 268 is the best compromise for a std 1.8. on my 2.0, i want to go for the 272 if one comes available
