Low Washer Fluid - Warning Light on MK5 GTI

I too am very miffed that my previous MKIV,s 1.8T and PD150 had this feature yet my all singing and dancing GTI is back blah blah blah
does'nt.Now after reading this thread even more pissed off that a friendly VAGCOM guy cant activate it because wolfsburg decided to pre-empt the credit crunch by not fitting a sodding sensor therefore saving money  to offset the fact that 8 months after buying the sodding thing they reduce the cost of R32,s to £1000 pound less than I paid for my ******* GTI.Even worse Cliff is on the tele singing "mistletoe and wine"..Pass me a rope

Does no one do a weekly fluid and air check?

Every week (or two weeks if I'm doing weekend shifts), I will check oil, coolant and washer levels, and also tyre pressures. It's worth doing rather than relying on the car to tell you stuff.

i think the general consensus on this one is that people are doing this but were under the impression this came as a standard feature on the car.

its a bit poor if it can be switched on with vagcom, it just seems like vw conning people into buying the winter pack

it is a useful feature, was on my mini cooper before because the windscreen wash reservoir was smaller than a can of coke
