depends some people have bought the cheap ones for about 30 quid and can get a reading from them but honestly the original ross tech one is by far the best

But if all you want to do is reset the airbag light then surely not worth paying so much more?

If you only want it to reset the light and read/reset fault codes get one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/U281-VW-AUDI-SEAT-SKODA-CAN-BUS-OBD2-VAG-CODE-SCANNER_W0QQitemZ320309610730QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320309610730&_trkparms=72%3A1121%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Not a patch on vag com but still good. You WONT be able to change any settings ETC like vag com.

If i use a laptop wount this be cheaper and better? and will it allow me to change settings?

it will be limited as you will only be able to use the old version of VAG COM

a genuine cable will give you 24/7 product support (they are very quick to respond!), constant software updates to improve accuracy and data logging and also you can upgrade your cable for newer versions for a fraction of the cost

I might get this then

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAG-COM-USB-VW-Audi-Car-Diagnostic-Code-Reader-OBD-2_W0QQitemZ200262764890QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item200262764890&_trkparms=72%3A1301

one more question, is genuine VAGCOM the Rostech one, or is this genuine also, as it says VAGCOM?

So, I know what you said last night, but really, if I get that one on the link, will it be useless? Can I change things with it?
