DSG intake parts and some new exhaust hangers for the back

Been sorting out another VW design error this week which has been fun. Been noticing my rear washer jet following the wiper recently so I knew the pipe inside had broken, but what I wasn't expecting was the pipe to come off and soak my boot latch knackering the switch. So no boot light, and no rear wiper. All the parts to fix this came to a little over £90

Anyways after that nasty shock I've got all the parts needed to fix this, ALL of them being revised from the originals on the car

The boot liner showing evidence of the leak

the motor rusting from the inside due to the leak

New parts ready for fitting

I've also been busy on another wheel, it's etch primed and ready for some filler primer either tomorrow or Monday

The latch and wiper motor is all back in and working, no pics as it's quite boring. While I was there I treated the car to a new set of wiper blades front and rear too.

Been doing the wheels at work and I now have both at the same stage

Sanded and cleaned

Filled and sanded a small dent that needed repairing

and then a few coats of etch prime

A quick rub down and a few coats of filler primer next, probably Monday now as I only work a half day Friday

She developed the dreaded misfire last week so I popped round to my mates to try her ignition amp on mine and it cured it straight away so I went about ordering a new one. From VW, £160 odd

So I managed to find a non genuine version for £80 from ECP along with their 20% discount brought it down to just over £60 which I can live with

Old

New

Dunno if it's a placebo affect but I'm sure it feels like it's running better so maybe it had been on it's last legs for a while

I've smoothed my standard airbox too, don't know if I'll see any gains from iti but it only cost 10mins of my time today so no loss if not. My boot liner also arrived, fitted but no pics as I have loads of crap in the boot covering it up but I will get one at some point

I've got some anniversary sideskirts on the way which will also be sprayed at work but not for a few weeks yet. Probably my last update for a few weeks as it's now only 5 days till my daughter is due...

Blimey it's been a manic few weeks but things are starting to settle down again...

I've been tidying up my engine bay with regards to the catch can and airbox and so far I've fitted the new pipe and the airbox back in

bottom half marked out for DSG snorkel

and snorkel fitted

top half of airbox built up with MAF and ignition amp

Airbox in with oil pipes routed and engine cover modified

Catch tank secured to air duct ready to be fitted

and the Green Cotton filter to go in the airbox

Got these genuine Anni skirts for the bargain price of £60 this week too

also a pic of my boot liner

More pics 2moro once I get the catch tank in there

Catch can, standard airbox and piping all in and finished

and with the engine cover back on for a standard look...

Just need to trim a bit more off the side of the cover so the pipes aren't snagging but it's not too bad as it is

also found 5 mins to fit this

S3 battery cover is being replaced with the later Golf box as it doesn't fit with the ducting on the front panel

Before the RR day I have to fit 2 exhaust mounts, then I'm good to go

not updated for a while so here we go

RR day was a failure, I'm running way too much boost so the run was aborted

It's down to the N75 map not being right for the new Forge actuator (it was set to the old knackered actuator to at least give me a bit of boost) so a bit more fettling is needed once I go up to R-Tech again in a few months

Been really busy with the new baby and a few bits around the house so not had a great deal of time to do anything but I've managed to get one more wheel done and the other is nearly masked up ready for the black.

I've picked up a set of black mirror indicators which I've wanted for ages

will get a pic of them fitted later

Also I've decided to go ahead with the black headliner I've been thinking about for ages. I now have a spare of most interior bits to paint and the rest I will be buying new Anniversary parts. I also picked up some door seals so I can paint the grey parts with some upholstery paint

I'll try and get the other wheel finished this week and get them balanced up over the weekend

a few parts sprayed black for the headlining when it's done

the final wheel was finished last week...

Had them balanced on Friday and are now fitted, crap pic though

Also got hold of these to add a bit more fuel when I visit R-Tech again for a map tweak.

And a 3" MAF housing just in case

Also got the glue I need for the headlining

I'm halfway through painting the door seals, just need to order some anniversary black trim bits that I can't paint and I'll get moving on it.

A better pic of the wheels

I've painted my inlet manifold black as I hated the way it stood out in the engine bay, was also a good excuse to fit the power gasket I had bought too

and fitted

also bought myself an ABS plastic Anni rep valance, this is the best pic I have of it lol

Fitted an LCR fuel pump today

and lined my gear linkage back up. Also had a service ready to drive down to Weymouth with the missus and kids for our holiday next week
