Switched 12V supply
« on: 12 September 2008, 22:14 »
Hi all,

In the middle of fitting my Parrot MK6100 Bluetooth kit in the Ed30 and was using the excellent guide in the Maintenance section (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=40928.0) - however, the switched ignition supply source (pin 20 at the back of the heater controls) in this guide is a different coloured wired in mine and doesn't seem to be working properly.

Anyone else used another source for the switched 12v supply the kit needs?

Many thanks!

From other recent posts (and my experience) the two options you have for a switched live are either from the cig light socket or from spare connections in the fuse box.

I used both perm 12v and switched 12v feed from spare fuse positions found in the fuse panel at end of dsahboard.

Thanks for the replies!

Any idea which spare ones you used?

Just to add - managed to find a switched ignition supply at the back of the diagnostic port in the drivers footwell. The one at the rear of the heater control (pin 20) was also a switched supply, but I was happier using the diagnostic port supply instead. Some pics of the Parrot install to follow if anyone is interested!
