or maybe the Bulletproof PCV fix - quite a new solution to it??

That's very OTT!
What are the problems peeps are experiencing with the OEM PCV valves and piping?
Not holding pressure when remapped, some see their actual psi drop a little.
Ahh, OK, thanks.

The concern then was the manifold being put under pressure
That really shouldn't be a problem, as the pressure in the crankcase won't be that great, and the manifold is designed to specifically cope with the PCV system - unless the rings are really shagged - but then a PCV valve would be the least of your worries.

Someone tested a new OEM PCV and this was shown to leak slightly
Oh - that's not good!

Is this a common trait, or are they relatively isolated incidents?

I think another thing people notice is blue smoke from the exhaust at WOT as it burns off the oil which has snuck through
Hmmmm. This would appear to be more common then. When I replaced my standard I/C with the S3 one, there was quite a bit of oil which dribbled out of the hoses and the old core. Yet when I whipped the plugs out, there was no evidence of burning any oil.

Might take another look over the weekend.
There is quite a bit of info on vortex and golfmk5
Alas, there is far too much chaff before you can find any wheat, particularly on the 'tex.
