I agree auto, just like all the others, vauxhall easytronic, think merc do one too, deffo auto

The Vauxhall/Opel "Easytronic" is not a DSG-type dual-clutch 'box.  It is purely a conventional construction manual gearbox, with a conventional construction single plate dry clutch.  It looses the clutch pedal, and the clutch operation and gear selection are controled by a mechatronics module.  The floor shifter is similar to any auto, and it also has a tip function.

The original generation Easytronic was utterly horrible.  Whenever you were accelerating, using either part- or full-throttle, every time it changed gear, you would virtually head-but the windscreen!  :angry:  The later ones are slightly better, though to attempt to compare them with DSG is like chalk and cheese!

Maybe because the S3 is such an extremely accomplished and refined car - with no rough or raw edges?  :wink:
