you only need to pull the stereo forward to run the cable behind it - no need to disconnect anything

Thats the point I only have about 5cm of movement before the cables disconnect themselves :P

It is actually possible to feed the wires in the gap behind the centre console (low down) - stick your arm through from the footwell!

Glad you've got them working Rhys!!

i haven't mate - had to abandon the install - was a bit naive and forgot the door cards had to be removed to feed the wires up to the mirrors unless you know of a crafty trick

Don't get me wrong, I like what you've done.  But isn't the location in the wing mirror not the best place, surely the door bottom, closer to the B post would be better.  Therefore when you open the door the light swings out in a larger arc over the area where you will actually place your feet.  So when you exit the car you can see where to put your feet.  The door mirror location will be obstructed by the door?  Try putting your feet on the floor directly below the door mirror.  Just a thought?  That's how it is on my Saab, and the Swedes are supposed to be good at the this ergonomic sh*te.

I see what you mean, but if they were in the bottom of the door then they would only function when the door was open.
When they're in the wing mirrors they can illumunate the floor once you've shut the door and are leaving the car as well as once you've unlocked the car and are approaching it.
I've seen a few Fords and Skodas with them in the wing mirrors

Remove the door cards, if it's worth doing, do it properly :)
