yea usual. doesnt matter what your up against, slipping tyres will kick in esp and yellow light, and cut the power... i turn esp off when i feel the need to overtake etc, car is sooo much more alive with it off

....Safer to keep the ESP on but learn how to progressively feed the throttle, imo.

Yeah had this problem a few times, I also need to gradually introduce the power to the road. Horrible when it happens, big judder and no power for about 2 seconds...nearly nutting the steering wheel is not a good look when your racing.
sorry but my vaux looks far better than the mk5 gti, thats why i bought it  faster too

....Keep it for the track.

On the road, incidents happen when you least expect them - At such times you may be very glad you had ESP on. As topher says: "The throttle doesn't have to be an on/off switch". You'll actually get there faster if you feed the throttle progressively rather than losing time scrabbling around. IMO.

TC on the golf is far too instrusive imho , and would be nice to have adjustable limits
(surely it cant be too long before a software manufacturer does this?).
Like the E46 M3 CSL / CS with track mode , we could have a Golf 'R' button

In the absence of being able to change this , and as RR states Id like ESP to 'attempt' to save me in a serious accident!
(my attitude to ESP off has changed a little)

you need to improve grip , so the limits arent reached.
suspension / ARB / camber setup would all help, better tyres
also dog bone mount to reduce the 'harsh' feel to axle tramp.

I know Im keen to reduce the understeer in my ED30 as a priority

....A Quaiffe ATB diff will also contribute, john_o

'the holy grail'  a yes I forgot thnks.
Probably better value come to think of it in £/improvement compared to all the other stuff.
So maybe should do that first
Breaking the warranty i guess is then the only issue (if your names not RR  :smug:)

....I'm now out of warranty but being supplied and installed by VW Racing has full support. The Quaife is simply not a component likely to cause issues. If anything it will help the DSG.
