But that would still be misleading, and missing the point, and is the basic issue of peeps confusing "calender years" and "model years". To use your specific example RR, an "06 build" could indcate that the car was built during the entire calendar year of 2006 (which is fine and legal, but is unclear because it doesn't indicate the specific model year); and it could include
either a 2006 model year or 2007 model year!

Afterall, I doubt you'd be selling a GTI to any old Jo who wasn't a car enthusiast.
Oh - I dunno. Whilst in our hearts, here on GolfGTI forum, I'm sure we'd all like our beloved GTIs to go to an "enthusiast" - I would put money on the fact that probably most GTIs are sold to anybody (reps, lease cars, even rentals in Europe) - afterall, Mrs Tamer isn't an "enthusiast". There is only room for one petrol-head in Teutonic Towers!
