Thanks TT, yes its in the long vin number at the 10th digit place.
Ohhh - that a little confusing. So just to clarify, your VIN looks like: "WVWZZZ1K
Z6*******", and 1K6 is NOT in your actual 17 digit VIN

Aerial looks built in, cant say i have paid too much attention to it..will have another look, however I am sure that TT is correct in these matters....therefore its an 06
Yup, a 2006 "model year".
Does that mean, when I come to sell the car, that I can legitimately market it as a (55) 06 ? probably not eh? the year tends to mean its year of registration, doesn't it?
Hmm, in the UK, we are quite strict on dates when selling cars.
The established practice (before the numeric year plates were introduced) was to advertise the car by
registration letter and
registration year - for example - a "1999 T-reg".
For these new plates, the same logic follows, but due to the twice-yearly plate changes, can throw an element of confusion. Let's take a car registered on 1st February 2006 - this may have a plate something like GE55 XYZ - so you could/should advertise the car as something like "2006 55-plate".
In your specific instance, I'm guessing that your car was registered during the period of 1st September 2005 to 31 December 2005 - if so, you must advertise it as "2005 55-plate". Of course you can also list it as a "2006 model year", but being as the average UK motoring public won't know about automotive model years, you will need to explain that the model year indicates the programmed minor changes in specification at the production line. I personally don't know what the 2006 m/y changes were, but for the 2007 m/y, the changes included silver knobs for the radio/SatNav, and deletion of a colour option (to name a couple).
