Theres is a chance i need a more "suitable" car for work soon,  and i have no idea what i will do about my R32? Because of the price crash in the car,  paid 24k for it in Feb, and was only offered 16k in part ex a month ago..  Cant afford 2 cars,  cant afford to sell it/part ex it..  what the hell to do!!

If it's mpg that hurting you, why not drive it like a granny(-ish) and hang on to it until better times.

yeah.. after having been forced to calm down I can easily get 28mpg around town! I think if I get myself some good quality ear plugs I could probably get that up to 30mpg no probs.. and still make good progress.

I've been tempted by a nice Blue one at a local dealers, was £27999.00 then £24999.00 now £21999.00 with the mention of more discount if needed

It's the ex demo on a 57 plate, they have one exactly the same on an 08 coming to the end of it's demo period so I think they need rid of it sharpish.

....I know that temptation, Stu! I've driven several R32's recently - Mk4's and 5's and all on Millteks (don't tell Phil!). The sound is to die for and the 'AWD' appreciated. My favourite is a friend's APS Stage3 M5 DSG with Haldex etc. Not as nimble as the GTI though. I find the .:R potentially more of a license loser. Deep Blue Pearlescent is their traditional colour.

You probably already know that VW have finished production.

A few reasons really... main reasons is,  i "hopefully" will have 2 jobs soon,  and will be at one of the companies 2 days a weeks,  problem is they are in totally different directions, and its quite far.  The thought of putting that sort of mileage on the R is making me cringe.  The costs are not too much of an issue but will have to be careful.

Another reason is, its an executive position,  so there will be meetings/lunches etc etc, and i think will be hard fufilling that in the R32.
