Well yeah.. if you want to go to that extreme I could get over 1000bhp out of my motor. I'd like to be able to use it more than twice a year though

Yes the first gen supercharged cars. With the sc cars the power is very linear so the power doesnt all come in at once so they are pretty well behaved on the road. The ones with all the trick suspension and diffs are a bit of a handfull on the road but on track they are crazy fast.

Golf gti ed30, tornado red, itg panel filter, revo stg 2, team dynamics gloss black wheels, turbo back milltek, ecs dogbone mount, leon cupra brakes. s3 intercooler ordered.

These cars are driven everyday, not twice a year. 1000 bhp is silly and i think you would really struggle getting 1000bhp without going stroker and huge turbo which wont be driveable as it will just be too laggy. The mini that runs 400bhp has no sc and has a turbo instead, its not that big so boosts pretty early in the rev range, the car also weighs around 1050 kg so doesnt need silly power to keep up with supercars around the track.

got a little clip of the turbo 400bhp one and a 230bhp sc car on track. Very wet though so not gunning it.
Turbo is the black car and sc one is the blue.

Yeah I found that one too, but its an 'alleged' 300bhp kit (the bloke admits he hasn't dyno'd it.. deja vu of the IHI kits for the 1.8T in the late 90's) and destroys bushes on the track, which is a far cry from 400bhp and even further from these 600bhp ones with stock tranmissions that intrigue me! I know there is a 600bhp mk1 mini on the scene.. but that has a 7.2L V8 and a lot of nitrous

AmD did kits for the 'S cars with a supposed 315bhp (their r/r was well known to be 15 - 20% out, depending on which day you went) with a 400bhp nitrous'd one, but that had the uprated getrag gearbox.

Aaaanyway, I want to go back to bashing vauxhalls. Especially how if the torque curve is so linear, to reach high numbers it'll have to be revving it's t!ts off. But then again there is no more satisfying sight than watching a vauxhall spit it's valves through the bonnet
