Phil, Just noted that you are having a prolem with Cat and your comments.  Having never owned a DSG car thought this was normal, manual mentioned anti roll back on hills and assumed that this was included in the spec of the car as it was doing this from word go.  I have not had any problem with either the miltek or the lamdaprobe sensors which to clarify a point there is one on each side of the Cat and bolts straight into the miltek system.  If there was a problem with one of the lamdaprobes when you took it to your VW dealer, their VAG computer would have picked it up as a fault! Last comment to make would be the miltek was taken off on the Monday and I drove it until Friday and had no problems, did the stalling that you are now experiencing happen after the updates??

yes, since theyve done the update that the car needed 24k6, she's not running very well at low speeds, which makes me think that theres a sensor problem. You would know this jer , but sat stationary,in drive, you release the foot brake and shes off, even hill starts she's climbing the hill!!. I know she wasnt doing it on the milltech as much, or i didnt really take too much notice. It wasnt untill i drove both my standard GTi and the ed30 that i wasnt safe to release the foot brake without ramming the car in front!., but above all, shes being fixed f.o.c, and what curious into dealers conclusion was the cat had a fault??. i didnt know whether the old system was a full or cat back system?.
Ive been taken good care of her, she's had 3 waxes and a life shine treatment, and i expect youve seen the pics i posted looking top draw.
I hope your evo's going well, hope your licence stays intact.

Do you have VAGCOM to check for fault yourself?

As said the car has always done it from day one, ie with original standard exhaust, the miltek (which was a full system) didn't go on until Jan 08.

Is a remapped GTI just as powerful Torque-wise as ad ED30?  Does the extra 40+ HP make the GTI a bit quicker than the Ed30 as the ED30 is 226BHP and a Bluefin remapped GTI would be 238BHP

I really like my GTI but if the ED30 had full leather at the time I'd have bought one

The Ed30 is putting out more power it seems than stated in the book - usually around 250bhp which is more or less the same as the GTI remapped.

If anything there might be a slight better pickup on the remapped GTI due to what we thought the smaller turbo and less lag (but it could probably be down to the torque), both myself and another member thought the same when we drove them back to back.

If you look on the results of the latest Awesome GTI RR day you can see the results for your self.

A remapped GTI is so much better to drive - still very smooth unlike the remapped 1.8T, you notice more with DSG as it you want power when in 6th depending on revs it may drop to 5th or stay in 6th, in stock mode it tends to drop to 4th to get in the power band so in that light it can also be easier to drive.
