Headliner now in pics

Done the sunroof cover, used acoustic carpet and paint on adhesive. the thick carpet don't let any glue through

how much for the acoustic carpet...??..and hwere you get the glue/what make ??..the black suede on my headlining keeps bloody sagging..!!!......fooking thing! cant use too much glue because it soaks thru.

Ok, its done, THANK CUFK FOR THAT

Acoustic was from ebay, everywhere else seemed to do 1X2 meters, I got 1.4 X 3M for £25.

The glue I went for in the end was evo Stick Adhesive from Wilkinson's, this stuff is perfect, brushed it on both the headliner and carpet, left it for about 10 - 15 minutes then pushed them both together.
This carpet is wicked, It gave me no problems with creasing, so easy to lay as long as you let the glue set. This is the most important thing!

Its took a while as I did a section at a time.

Here some pics now done, just needs fitting.



Here where the visors go I had to be careful and take my time, managed to get the carpet stretched in all recesses nearly perfectly. The glue needs to be tacky here before applying carpet.







Used super glue to tidy up the rear, super glue does soak through so had to be careful.

Looks like you've done a good job there mate!

I used evo contact when I was recarpeting Beetles, great stuff & as you say needs to be left to go tacky before you push surfaces together!

Interested to see what it looks like all fitted up!

u should get some of the vr6 highline black pillar plastics, they would suit it really well

let me know how it holds in place without the grab handles, if its any good im gonna lose mine too (even tho i have sprayed them black) did u spray your visors..??

Not done visors yet, how do yours look?

And what did you do with that rubber around the sunroof?

i'll try and get some pictures of my visors. they look ok apart from it's rubbed off the bit that clips in, i might put black tape over that part. the trim around sunroof is still grey, i started to remove it then changed my mind. doesnt look to bad being grey cos i still have grey sunroof switches
