with the conversion on your mates 4motion does the 20v lump bolt to the 4wd runnin gear or is there alot of work involved? ive been thinkin about this for a while as id not seen it before til now

yes because the s3 is 4wd too, the s3 gear and transfer box fit, some pipes need to be fabricated though, exhaust and boost pipes.

So it wasnt the 4motion runnin gear you used, hmmmm sounds expensive!!

Get gearbox with the s3 lump dont you

and then you still have a 4motion engine and gearbox (same as r32) to sell and make money back, the reason you cant use the 4mo box is because the holes dont line up on the gearbox to engine

right i see, thats what i was unsure about, was all set for buyin a 4motion for a conversion fest then!

hi lads loving the 4 motion conversion. wat other major stuff is needed as i been looking at doin mine, after the box an engine, an mods to the boost exhaust pipes, does this then mate to 4mo exhaust system? also wat other parts r needed for fuel line changes etc i am slowly gettin the info i need but it takes a while as these r very rare, if u cud throw some info my way wud b much appreciated. cheers.

yer ok mate no worries, no the feelin i got a lil one an my missis tryin to make me sell my 4mo but it aint happenin

yer i just noticed the date sry but although its an old post its taken me a while to find, so wen it popped up cudnt resist a post 

i just dont wana move from vw but want a turbo an as i already hav my 4mo, after findin out bout the conversion thats it now cant stop till its done

From what I can remember there wasn't that much stuff; I can remember the gearbox being a pain in the butt though. Il try find out. That car was the absolute nuts though I wanted it

Awesome work Ashmond lots of hard work gone in to the conversions! 

Like Ashmond said the 1.8t engine goes in pretty easy because of being able to interchange parts from the Audi quattros. You would just need a downpipe to fit from the turbo to before the ca and the rest of your exhaust system.
