280 doesnt sound too bad - i was expecting a lot more than that.  do you know if they are up to spec for you race car stu? i'm assuming yours will need to be FIA and all that jazz

Next best step would be the braided brake lines, IMO.  Lewis hit the nail on the head.  There's nothing more frustrating than doing 3/4 laps then having to come back in because the brakes are fading.  Also, maybe consider running some decent pads like Ferodo DS2500's.  I found these to be better than warm OE pads even when they were cold!!

I'd also be weary of running new road tyres as they can suffer from 'tread flex' & get ruined rather too quickly.  Next best thing after road legal slicks (Toyo 888's, Yoko A048's etc.) would be part worn roadies with about 4mm on them.  :afro:

ps I don't know if Mk2's come with those brake splash guards like the Mk4's do, but removing them should aid brake cooling a bit.

Yeah its the Custom cage kit -

just like this one fitted to horneys old white MK2 - the one thats been turned into a racer

you can get them with the single rear bar or full cross - think ats 260 for the single 280 for the cross , they come with door bars aswell

I think so , not sure how far forward they run as to how much dash is needed

all cages need "feet" welding in place to mount them to , but they are bolt in cages so they arnt directly welded to the bodyshell
