Thanks All

Yes the Ed30 had *only* the half leather / half cloth interior on option, when I ordered it anyway.

I'm hoping it's the dealers just getting a bit excited and getting their wires crossed. What's the point in VW being so 'specific' on the spec of a special edition if you then go and change it?

I'll post the result of the conversation between the dealers and VW, when I eventually get it.

no more likely that dealers will use that to knock the price down as that is the 1st question they always ask is whether the seats are leather.Made a huge difference to my Passat when i was getting quotes for trade in.They wanted to knock off a £1k because it only has non leather style.

Hi All

Just received the below email from my brokers. I don't like it!  The brokers have asked the dealership to get in touch with VW to see if it's 'compulsory'.

Appreciate it may be others' cup of tea but I liked the half cloth / half leather interior on the Ed30.

We have just been advised by Pulmans that all outstanding Golf orders have been upgraded to include leather interior as a standard option at no extra cost and we have been asked to let everyone know of this benefit.
Hi M
I was under the impression that it was just the GTI's that now come with leather only and that the ED30 still only came with half leather. I maybe wrong thou

Just had a call from the dealers and my car is still awaiting shipping so thats 1st March out the window

cheers
Jay

JayB,

You’re absolutely right. ED30 ONLY comes in Tartan/leather combo... no full-leather option, no Recaros option.
However armrest is now FREE. So £120 credit if you’ve specced it.

Cheers... Hotrod

I've got leather, bought my car from stock at Motorpoint so didnt get the choice. Not sure i'd go for it again, cold in winter and boiling/sweaty in summer! Plus the tartan cloth interior as standard is pretty nice.

Prob true about better trade in value though.

My Golf GT has full leather with heated seats.  I quite like it.  Not sure what I'd do if I had to spec a new GTI.

....Hang on, guys!! The wording is ambiguous - It doesn't actually say that cloth is no longer available as an option but that leather is a standard OPTION at no extra cost.

Update on my Ed30 - full leather interior!

Email from the brokers:

I have just had a reply back from Pulmans and unfortunately the car has already been built with leather interior as standard due to the spec change and they are expecting it to arrive in the next few days. I’m sorry I couldn’t help further.

I'm minded to cancel the order

Thats bizarre! I can't believe they have fitted full leather over the 'special edition' seats!! What a load of crap! Mind you it will be the first Edition 30 with full leather! Will actually be more exclusive!
