I bought a 5 door as we can't get 3 door GTis in NZ.

Thought, as most do, that a 3 door would look better but not so sure after seeing a few Ed30s around.

Think they are on a par really - and the practicality of the extra 2 doors just about swings it.

At the risk of starting another debate - go for the lighter colours - candy white or silver. The detailing stands out more in the lighter colours.

3-door looks so much more sporty, 5-door is practical but shouts Family man (or woman).

Well said... my Candy White ED30 arrives in just over a week now. Sleeping is now the problem.
It’s great to feel like a teenager again.

3 door all the way! It looks more sporty IMO.  It was my highest priority when getting a new car that it HAD to have 3 doors.  Even if they found me a 5 door with perfect spec, perfect condition etc. I wouldn't consider it in the slightest.  I solved that problem by buying new in the end though!

Even if/when I have a family I will still go for a 3 door!

Can't you just put the baby in the boot - no chance of getting sick on the upholstery then
