in ten years the only thing i replaced was the coil pack.vr6's just have to be well maintained and the owner must know whats up.thats it..if you dont know what ur doing things can get bad fast.
but,its a wonderful car it gives u the power when u need it and the sound really makes it tough to drive slow.sometimes its almost as if the car were telling u to hit the gas.seriously.

I like the sound of a 16v... although v6's sound nice...

I dont know how youre getting those 8v mpg figures?

I get 45mpg in my 16v at 60mph and 50mpg in my mums 8v at 60... getting about 35 round town

Ive had a few of each & its all about the noise the engine gives, so there is no competition

VR6 all day long, who gives a hell about a couple of MPG,

16v =  :smiley:

VR6 =  :grin:

but surely if you dont thrash the vr everywhere then it can be just as economical??? :p

yeah but the sound is addictive!!
i believe 28mpg is average for the vr and 32mpg is ave for the 16v...

yet my 8v gets less than this!

My 1.6 only gets 25, one of the reasons ive bought a vr6, not much difference in price overall.
