That is amazing - shows up the pearlescent paint very well. Whats it like outdoors in natural light?

Well here's mine in sunlight after a "DIY" polish with a Porter Cable

I think i've asked this before but.. does polishing damage/strip the paint? Or am i thinking of doing something else?

I just cant bring myself to wash my car like that.

I cleaned mine on Saturday morning, took about 1:30 hours and it was lovely and clean and shiny. Its now Friday and the bonnet is a state and there is dirty and muk all over it and its not even been a week. I just cant be bothered. In the summer its not too bad but for the majority of the year it just does my head how dirty the old girl gets.

Polishing removes a very thin layer of your clearcoat (lacquer) ... but is only required occasionally to remove swirling / minor scratches ... the rest of the time you just need to protect the clearcoat with wax / sealant.  All VW paint has a clear coat.
