How an earth do you know it was 'souped' up as you put it, you dont know do you, I am sure you will now tell me you spoke to the EVO driver!!!! But forgot to mention it before, if you did you would know exactly how much power the ' souped up' EVO was pushing because the driver would have told you. Sorry I have to say it but your full of sh!t......And like I stated you are comparing modded ed30 to a standard car....

I am not posting anymore as clearly there are a fair few misguided, naive and very ignorant members on this forum and dont know why I am wasting my time trying to educate those who clearly have no idea...

I only know what wolfbane told me, he knows the guy in Evo, and he knows how much power it puts out.

Also I think you should calm down. I may be full of sh!t (though I said Evo takes E30 due to 4x4), but you are hilarious in your rage. I passed that stage in 3rd grade.

We all love our ED30, golf GTI's etc for what they are but it also makes me laugh as an ex owner of anFQ300.I think these races were in a dream.

And to throw my two cents in:

The whole arguement/ discussion/ call it what you want is pointless.
If you want some that is going to destroy almost anything on the road. Buy a scoobie. A M3 or a Porsche Cayman even.

The thing people cant understand is that the GTi (regardless of wether its Edition 30 or not) is not designed to be a sportscar. Its a hothatch and is currently the best at being a HOTHATCH.

The Gti is a complete allrounder. It does everything including giving you the thrills that your scoobie might give you only that the thrill might noy be so thrilling 

So regardless of wether a "fully laiden golf" beat a M3 the point is still rather simple. If you want to race scoobies and evo's. Buy one. I completely agree with everyone who says that people expect too much from the Gti.

I think that at the best of times this forum is very friendly. I have said nothing in this thread and he knocks me for what I posted about my dad beating a M3. In a fully laiden golf

Big Babies and my rage, your making me laugh now I am not the one with making the comments hyping up an ED30 into basically into something it isn't.
I am sorry if peoples remarks regarding performance of the ED30 wind me up and apologise.  I am a car enthusiast, no loyalty to any brand and I accept a car for what it is.  I didn't start the debate on EVO v ED30 anyway, it was someone bragging that they keep up with them....
One of the most amusing threads I have read for a while is the 'What car have you beat in your ED30' that thread is a real hoot, if people want to believe the Ed30 is the best car in the world go ahead keep dreaming, it may well be in your eye's but don't hype it up into something it isn't as it actually does no good at all and makes people look very isolated when it comes to their car knowledge.
Lots of decent posts from members though and i appreciate them....
I have a dealer as I am writing this looking at what spec/colour ed30 model he can get his hands on, we will go from there...
