how much more can you hear it? as on my mk2 you didnt really hear it until you put the load pedal right on the floor at any revs then it sounded like a beast

Richie.... Did you drill the whole bottom box out or only the wing side??

Personally I would only drill the front and the wing side.
I reckon doing the opposite side and possibly the bottom would draw warm air in from engine reducing power.
I'd definately avoid doing the inner side whatever you do mate

This is a useful guide-

Although he seems to drill on the engine side too?  :undecided:

I only drilled the bottom and the side near next to the wing so that you couldnt see any holes when re-fitted!
Took all of 10 minutes to do from start to finish

From what ive read drilling only the wing side works best aswell as running a cold air feed to the back of the air box and fixing it to where the warm air feed goes.

Do you think it would sound as loud if i only drilled the wing side as opposed to drilling the wing side and the bottom??

Nearly every car I've had the drill comes out and attacks the airbox.

I only do the front and wing side as other wise it just sucks in hot air from the engine.

On some airboxes there is a restrictive air intake (mk2 8v) if you take that out it makes the induction noise louder. It's a nice easy and free mod!
