With all these Ed30's still waiting to arrive and be registered, PLUS the fact that you can still spec new ones at Dealers it does beg the question that Hurdy asked earlier in this thread of how many Ed30's VW are actually bringing to the UK !

no word of a lie but i have seen more ed30's on the road than the standard GTI??? there must be more that 1500!! i rekon i see 2 a week, they are all red silver and black thow, no white ones!! white ed30 black detroits!!!    :lipsrsealed:

GTI MK5
Not the only GTI...........but the best! ; )

OK its a long story but in brief.....car was ordered on 23rd March 2007 with a delivery date of some time end of June beginning of July, two weeks before it was due myself and a number of people were sent a letter saying VW had tried to stop grey imports so all cars had to be reordered.

Next delivery date was September (some of you might recall the thread ''Week 30 build'' that ran for a while about this subject), heared nothing until mid October when I was told it 'd be here in 7 days, 7 days came and went and was then told car had been damaged when the top level of the transporter came down on the roof of the car...therefore the car had to be reordered yet again !!

So here I am hopefully getting it within the next couple of weeks !!!

Question - do I have the patients of a Saint....or am i stupid ??????

I personally could not have waited that long, I have had to wait just under two months for my car and that was plenty, but then again I do have the patience of a 7 year old.

What was your spec on the car? I bet you could have found an almost identical spec with little or no miles on somewhere, I suppose it just depends on how patient you are.

So the answer to your question = You have the patience of a saint.

I bet Volkswagen have lost a lot of customers due to this grey import scenario.

I bet Volkswagen have lost a lot of customers due to this grey import scenario.

Usually the UK "importers" just buy them off the likes of say VW dealerships in Holland - If this is the case then I'm not sure there's much VW AG can do to stop it
