....My Revo Stage1 showed close to 300 ft lb (406 Nm) on the rolling road. I've had conversations with Revo and other tuners before I remapped because I was particularly concerned about how DSG would be - I researched this aspect over several months and waited until I was satisfied before remapping. During that 'research' I learnt that VW build-in approx +40% 'headroom' tolerance to their engineering on their official figures. So, if VW say 300, there's actually about 420 in the envelope.
Everytime I've done a mod, I've checked that torque isn't over increased to a level I don't feel comfortable with for longevity. I had the DSG Mechatronics Unit fail but way before I remapped. A remap transforms the GTI. With the same driver in each car I would say that my modded GTI has faster performance than both a stock Ed30 and a stock R32 but it's not all about being faster but having your own car as you prefer it as a ride.
I'm not alone in reporting that the DSG shifts feel smoother since a remap - Except when cold start.
In all the lists of differences I've so far read about Ed30 internals, I haven't come across anything yet suggesting that the DSG box is any different on any of the Mk5's.
