Im quietly confident I would give him a good run for his money... I know I can get 300bhp out of mine without any major mods

Out of interest what would need to do to get 300bhp out of yours?

I have looked into this and to get to the magic 300 would mean:

1. Miltek
2. Upgraded air intake
3. Remap

I think this might cost in the region of about 1500. or alternatively a stage one supercharge 3500 (330bhp)

That car will be truly awesome as the 4WD will get the power down well.  This will be on my list in when it comes to change the ED30.

Yep! I am definately feeling the s3!! It is something I would consider when it comes to a change.. good quality, plenty of power, and the sure foot stability of a 4wd... lovelly!!

I would very much like to go all out for twin turbo's  but 20k is a bit steep (remember you have to upgrade a fair few other bits too)

But what a thought   Would be blowing CBR's out of the water!! Now that would be a sight

I dont think so... S3 + £600 gets you 330bhp, 4wd, and a better quality interior than the golf. Not to mention a very good looking car... Only thing that would put me off is 3drs

for me a price hike of 1/3 compared to E30 does not justify 4wd, 265hp, better materials inside (the build quality in E30 is not worse than in S3, and design preference is subjective factor), and better looks. For me S3 is overpriced, you pay for the brand name mostly.
