....Cheers, Hurdy

Nothing in the pipeline at the moment except to do something about the blue bottles area when I find something suitable. Ooops! I forgot!!....I'm going to get a carbon rear VW badge/hatch opener from oempl.us who supplied my front badge.

The OSIR carbon is well known internationally for its high quality.

RR Where did you get the Carbon Fibre centre engine cover section, saw this on your car a while ago but can't find one anywhere?

Too much on that one imo, yours has a nice balance.

....TTshop in Bedford - Phone Justin or David (the boss) on 01234 853 225 and say I sent you (Robin with red GTI). It's made by OSIR and TTshop are the sole European sellers.

They got me a blue VW badge to fit the centre because I wanted to keep the dirty grey original centre strip intact.

Robin, you saved 10kg by changing breaks? You changed only front breaks, right? How come there is such a large weight saving? How much do the original breaks weigh, then?

BTW, I like small holes!

....Yes, as something like 85% of braking is done on fronts that's all I changed. Also changing the rears would necessitate much jiggery-pokery with the handbrake.

Each Stock front brake weighs 15.1 Kg and each AP front brake weighs 10.6 Kg, therefore saves 4.5 Kg x 2 = 9 Kg to be more precise.

I'm not sure I know what you mean about liking small holes, unless you aren't referring to cars!!

Cheers for that. Just checked it out and the other OSIR stuff. I'd better prepare my bank balance for a severe bashing. Was just about to buy a boost gauge. Think I'll get the O Pod and Defi gauges now though.

Your car is one of the best examples I've seen. Only just started playing with my one, but got a few ideas for it.

This is something i also want to do Robin.
Do oempl.us charge alot for sending to Europe and do they accept the major credit cards?

And how easy is it to change the front VW badge? Is it just clipped in?

....Many thanks for your extremely flattering comments .

oempl.us waived their shipping charge because they were out of stock and being handmade the CF badges took a long time to be available. Once it was available they shipped it very fast indeed - USPostal Service is second to none! But then the fecking UK customs feckers charged me about £20 tax!!!!

It fits much more strongly than the stock badge and would be very difficult to remove.

If you are considering cosmetically modding your Pearlescent Black GTI (the very best black by far in my opinion) then what suits my red car might not suit the black. It's a question of individual taste.

There are various pics dotted around this forum but I'll see if there's a general pic because I have lots!!
