I went to the cash machine tonight, left the engine running and the car really did sound 'pathetic' I'm just talking about the tickover, it's not what you expect from this sort of car IMO.

My Ed30 is the same, I havent taken it to the dealer because I am anticipating the same battles I had with my last car, MINI Cooper S. That was exactly the same and the dealear insisted it was normal and to be fair the MINI forums were full of people saying the same, in fact nobodys was perfect at tick over. I did eventually solve it, when I had it remapped, I got the tuner to raise the idle revs by 100 or so and it sounded like a new engine He reckoned all the manufacturers were dropping the idle revs too low on their cars (he did give a reason but I dont remember) and he was raising them all the time to counter engines sounding like a pile of crap.
