or just put air con on, that makes it idle higher... but hay, i dont wanna drive with ac on!

I must admit I am confused by all this, my last car was a GT TDI (diesel obviously!) and my ED30 sounds nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing like it (cold start or running). :huh:

It has a nice low burble from the exhaust and has done since delivery, I even thought how nice it sounded when the delivery guy started it up to take it off the transporter.  Don't know if I have a good 'un and you all have duds  :smug:

well that is strange... mayb its from inside i hear it then... may have to try outside next start....  the engine just soudns so clunky!! inside or out! not as it should imo!

Mine is like that - its a Singer Deluxe model up front and a nice sound at the back...  :rolleyes:

Yeah, mine sounds a bit like a diesel! Got some idiot in an 88' civic with a DIY sprayjob come over to me yesterday looked at the car and said "is dat a diesel" what does he think? I got a diesel, put gti bumpers, alloys and interior on it! Fcukin idiot!

It certainly seems common on various gti forums.
Dont suppose theres any correlation between noise and service style (i.e oil type)?
